:: STUDENT'S WORK
Here you can find IP portfolio assignments prepared by prof. Rafael Sondervorst -> [.pdf]

During two weeks of an intensive course students will gain knowledge about implementation of the concept of SD into education and develop their own ideas about the best possible implementation of social cohesion, environmental responsibility and economic efficiency in the educational environment. Students will exchange information about ways of implementing the principles of SD in schools operating in different EU countries and will try to find the best ways to shape the awareness of their future students in this area. They will be taught how to equip their future students with information about SD, and how to develop their proecological attitudes.

Future teachers will be given lectures provided by international teaching staff on the implementation of the concept of SD. During a number of workshops students enrich their knowledge about the development of social projects based on research and innova-tive strategies of supporting social integration of students at risk of social exclusion. Students will also learn about projects developed in school sys-tems in different EU countries. Participants will develop a questionnaire to study the social, economic and environmental sustainability in an educa-tional environment. During the visits and interviews with teachers at schools in the Radom area, they will have the opportunity to verify their questionnaire, and to study how Polish schools introduce the topic of SD into their educational environment and curriculum. Students will also gain skills in developing environmental curriculum and planning lessons on en-vironmental education.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn about some proposals of enhancing environmental awareness and strengthening social capital during field trip to a waste management/recycling factory, a workshop on volunteer work and a workshop on EU programs and educational projects. Students will learn also about forms of assessment such as portfolio and peer assessment. Furthermore, they will have the opportunity to exchange experiences in an international team of lecturers and students. Acquired knowledge, skills and experience will enable them to improve their skills in teaching, education, communication and cooperation, thereby ensuring that they will become more attractive employees at the international labour market.
